About EQAC

EQAC LogoThe EQAC - Education Quality Accreditation Commission, grants recognition of educational quality to all the institutions that meet their standards through a voluntary, non-governmental guided self-regulation that is called accreditation. Accreditation of an institute guarantees that the learning offered by that institute is of uniform and sound quality. The accreditation from the Education Quality Accreditation Commission want to relate each educational institution own structure and procedures with an efficient way to guarantee their accountability.

EQAC Mission

The Education Quality Accreditation Commission (EQAC) was established with a mission to promote the development and maintenance of educational quality and ethical standards in higher education and training programs. The development was made possible by means of standard-setting, evaluation, and consultation processes. The Education Quality Accreditation Commission identifies and accredits educational and training institutions that have attained and maintained the standards deemed necessary to operate according to our established education quality and accreditation criteria. The EQAC is committed to promote high standards of education, to recognize professional excellence, and to provide an invaluable guide to education quality and recognition in the complex sector of worldwide education.

Eligibility for Accreditation

As per EQAC, an eligible institution must be any kind of organization, entity or company properly authorized to conduct higher educational teaching and certification, to award postsecondary degrees, certificates or other educational or professional credentials. The entities eligible for accreditation must prepare individuals to achieve competencies and attain the educational qualifications necessary to begin functioning in a specific occupation.

EQAC Full Accreditation

Any educational institution seeking accreditation by the EQAC must demonstrate through the application for accreditation and self assessment report (SSR) that it meets EQAC's standards.

Thoughtful Guidance

The Education Quality Accreditation Commission provides the applicant educational institution with a thoughtful guidance to assist the institution in finding its own approaches and solutions and meet the EQAC standards. The Commission makes a clear distinction between what is required for accreditation and what is recommended for improvement of the educational institution.
The evaluation of each standard is graded according to the following scale:

  • 4 - OUTSTANDING > No need for improvement.
  • 3 - STANDARD > May improve.
  • 2 - ACCEPTABLE > Requires improvement.
  • 1 - INSUFFICIENT > Not meeting the minimums.
  • 0 - NULE > Failed to comply with this requirement.

From now on the graduates may also validate the degrees & diplomas earned at Asian College of Teachers. This is a very much appreciated added value to our training programs.

Furthermore, the EQAC accredited institutions are entitled to:

1. Claim Accreditation by the EQAC.
2. Use the EQAC name and seal.
3. Receive an accreditation diploma.
4. Be listed on the EQAC Web as an Accredited member.
5. The EQAC Web will provide a link to the accredited member web.
6. Use the EQAC monitoring and feedback services.
7. Be periodically informed of any comments received on its behalf.
8. Get a fee invoice for tax deduction purposes.
9. Promote your institution through the EQAC Education Network.

Benefits of the EQAC Accreditation include

a. Improvement

The accredited member institution going through the self-assessment process guided by the Education Quality Accreditation Commission standards will learn how to further enhance its educational quality, how to improve its internal and administrative processes and how to optimize its overall outcome.

b. Recognition

Each Education Quality Accreditation Commission accredited member institution will receive a recognition diploma certifying the accreditation. This status may be permanently checked by any third party at the EQAC website.

c. Promotion

The Education Quality Accreditation Commission will promote its accredited members through the Internet and will forward any request to the appropriate institution. The Education Quality Accreditation Commission will finally reinforce the decision process of some potential students by emailing verification of the accreditation status of its members to any questioner.

d. Networking

All the EQAC accredited member institutions aim towards a similar quality and long-term goals despite of their country of origin. This goal is reassured by the EQAC accreditation they share. This fact facilitates the establishment of diverse types of international cooperation and agreements among member institutions, such as learning from other colleagues around the world, establishing academic synergies, creating cooperative global market strategies, etc...

e. Quality Control

The Education Quality Accreditation Commission accreditation does not only provide a warranty of academic quality, educational integrity and administrative responsibility of the accredited institutions, but also ensures a continuous quality monitoring and feedback. The EQAC welcomes complaints, suggestions and comments related to any member institution. These comments may provide useful and quick feedback to the institution about any academic or marketing actions it conducts. Comments are also efficient to help the institution in detecting problems as well as to monitor that EQAC standards are respected.

f. Conflict Resolution

The Education Quality Accreditation Commission may intervene in several ways in the resolution of conflict within the different layers of the accredited institution. The EQAC may arbitrate disputes between members and/or students. The EQAC may guide and support the institution during periods of serious difficulty, potential liability, insecurity of continuation and even possible shut down. The Education Quality Accreditation Commission advice will always be aimed to preserve the student welfare.

My Post Graduate Diploma in Montessori Teaching has been an incredibly transformative experience, thanks to the exceptional support and guidance of my student coordinator, Ankita. The comprehensive curriculum and emphasis on the Montessori teacher's role as a facilitator and guide have enriched my understanding of child development and teaching practices. The course has equipped me with valuable skills to create inclusive learning environments and foster independence in students. I am grateful for the knowledge gained and highly recommend this program to anyone seeking to embark on a rewarding journey in Montessori education.

In taking this course, I have learnt many new and interesting methods surrounding teaching that I didn't previously know. I have grown as a teacher and seen my students perform at a higher level through facilitated learning as opposed to directed instruction.

It is a very comprehensive and structured course, the teaching materials are simple enough that you can read on your own without a teacher. I think what I liked most about the course was that it helped me see the learning process from a learners perspective and learn to set student learning objectives. Before taking the TESOL course, I had nearly 8 years experience in teaching English as a foreign language, but while taking the course I realized that I used to set activity and involvement objectives rather than mastery/student learning objectives in my lesson plans. I was hesitant at the beginning, wondering if I would be able to go smoothly through all modules and phases; but as I started reading, analizing all contents and taking notes (of course also taking into consideration the suggestions made by my trainer after completing each assingment) I learned to prepare more student-centered, enjoyable and effective lessons. I tried to do my best and I felt satisfied with what I had managed at the end of the course. I learned details about planning for a learner-centered lesson, taught a learning-centered lesson and reflected on planning and teaching. All of them have changed my teaching style. I am more productive, creative and confident in teaching now. Overall, I found the experience valuable and absolutely worth my time. I would definitely recommend the course.

Asian College of Teachers (ACT) undertakes a continuous review of its teacher training courses to ensure imparting high quality education. However, there might be circumstances outside of ACT’s control which might affect its stakeholders like if you are planning to teach in a different country, applying for a teaching license, pursuing higher studies or trying to get the certificate approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE) of a particular country then you can do so with the certificate issued by Asian College of Teachers (ACT). However, each country’s Ministry of Education (MoE) or educational bodies set certain standards that are indispensable for the pursuit of higher studies or teaching in schools in that country. So it can be a possibility that you may be able to use the certificate for higher studies or teaching purposes in one country and not in another. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you investigate thoroughly and check with the relevant authorities regarding the acceptance of the certificate issued by us before you enrol on a particular course. ACT strives to offer high-quality education and its certificates can be valuable for various purposes internationally, but still it is crucial for individuals to verify the specific recognition of the certificate in the country they intend to use it, especially for formal education or professional licensing purposes. This approach ensures that the stakeholders make informed decisions regarding their educational and career paths.
